CHELSEA DE SOUZA

A Steinway Young Artist, Chelsea de Souza is currently a senior at Oberlin College & Conservatory, pursuing a Bachelors of Music in piano performance and vocal accompanying under concert pianist and recording artist, Peter Takàcs and a Bachelors of Arts in International Politics.

Chelsea has completed her LTCL (Licentiate Diploma) from the Trinity College of Music, London. She has won 4 All-India piano competitions,1st prize at the Ohio State level piano competition in Akron and was the top prize-winner in the 2009 IIYM International Piano Competition in Kansas, USA. She was interviewed on NBC TV and performed live on Kansas Public Radio. She has given concerts in Belgium, Germany and USA and has performed as a soloist with the Bombay Chamber Orchestra. She has been on three consecutive summer music scholarships to study with Prof. Sheila Arnold from the Hochschule fur Musik in Koln, Germany. She was awarded the 'Global Scholar Young Achievers Award' for her achievements in music.
Chelsea received a full scholarship to attend the 2013 PianoFest summer festival in the Hamptons, and this past summer was selected as one of 24 pianists from all over the world for a month of masterclasses and performances with internationally renowned musicians at PianoTexas 2014. She has played for internationally lauded musicians including Maestro Zubin Mehta, Leon Fleisher, Pascal Rogé and TamasVasary.


CHLOE DE SOUZA
Chloe de Souzais currently in her sophomore year at the prestigious Oberlin Conservatory of Music in the US where she is pursuing a Bachelors degree in music, majoring in voice with the acclaimed soprano Kendra Colton and piano performance with Prof. Peter Takàcs.
Chloe's achievements in the field of music, both vocal and piano, have been numerous.At the Interschool Singing Competitions organized by the Time & Talents Club, she was adjudged the 'Best Singer and Performer' across all age groups. She has been the winner of competitions both at the local and national level. She was the winner of the third Con Brio All-India Piano Competition, and was also a winner at Musiquest, an All-India Piano Festival held in Pune. At the age of 17, she completed her L.T.C.L(Licentiate of the Trinity College of Music, London) diploma. This year,Chloe was among a select few to perform in a Weill-style Cabaret as part of the Kurt Weill week at Oberlin Conservatory. She has performed at various charity events as both a pianist and a vocalist, including the Mrs. World Beauty Pageant in Amby Valley, and has conducted and accompanied choirs and performers for competitions and events.
In July 2014, Chloe performed Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' for two pianos with her sister, Chelsea at the Con Brio Piano Festival at the NCPA to thunderous applause. Last year, she gave joint voice and piano recitals with Chelsea in Chennai and Goa to much acclaim.Chloe is also a versatile pop and jazz singer, and enjoys musical theatre. She will be giving a recital of sacred music at the Monte Festival in Goa on February 6th.
